Welcome to the Official Stromness Shopping Week Website

Stromness Shopping Week also on Facebook

We hope that Stromness residents and visitors enjoy this special 70th Anniversary Stromness Shopping Week!

During Shoppping Week in Stromness there is a wide range of street entertainments that thrill, excite and engage both children and adults alike.

The award winning Stromness Royal British Legion Pipe Band plays selections of music throughout the week in various locations and are sometime joined by guest Pipe Bands.

The Shopping Week's Resident Band also plays at various times throughout the week at the pierhead and in local pubs at night and of course at the open air dance on Saturday night where they play from 7pm until Shopping Week comes to an end at 11pm.

Following its continuing success in Shopping Week, the popular Shopping Week Hack also takes place usually on the opening Sunday of Shopping Week at 12:30. Check the shopping week programme for details.

As usual Shopping Week has all the old favourites such as the Yard of Ale, the Beer Race, Holms Swim, and the Shopping Week 10k Race.

There will also be a full programme for the children of sports, round the town race, workshops, with many activities to take part in.

The Community Centre is open for our many visitors who hopefully enjoy the Flower Club and WRI displays.

Do take time to visit the photo gallery and view the highlights of Stromness Shopping Week, depicted through the many photographs taken during the event. The Shopping Week Committee thank you for your continuing support of Shopping Week and for visiting this webpage.
